About Project

Swae Tha Har Monatstery School was originally established as a Pariyatti Buddhist monastic school. Directly across from it was a Basic Education High School (BEHS). After the principal monk of the BEHS passed away, his successor chose not to continue operating the school. Consequently, the school’s administration and operations were transferred to Swae Tha Har Monastic School.

Initially functioning as a primary-level institution, the school began by educating over 120 resident students in makeshift temporary buildings. As the number of students from outside the monastery increased, an application was submitted to construct a permanent school building to accommodate them.

The head monk, being deeply committed to the well-being and development of the children, oversaw the donation of a one-storey dormitory equipped with double-decker bunk beds for younger boys and a two-storey academic building with eight classrooms. After the completion of these facilities, further classroom space became necessary due to the introduction of a new education system. To meet this need, a two-storey school building with four additional classrooms was subsequently donated.

These contributions have significantly improved the school’s infrastructure, enabling it to provide better educational services to a growing number of students.
